Hennepin Home Health Care Presents:
At Recovery Health Solutions, we firmly believe that Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and Mental Illness (MI) are brain diseases, free from any shaming or abandonment.
We are committed to holistic care, addressing both SUD and MI concurrently.
Above all, we understand that true change happens when it becomes deeply personal.
RECOVERY Health Solutions is a sister company to Hennepin Home Health Care.
Recovery Health Solutions was founded by the owners as a way to expand their mission to provide community services within the community. Recovery Health Solutions focuses on the mental and substance use disorders by marketing Hennepin Home Health Care’s services. Hennepin Home Health Care holds the 245G and 245I license and provides the services.
With over 50 years of experience in providing home health services, we have continually grown and adapted to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Recognizing the prevalence of substance use disorders among our clients, many of whom struggled despite previous treatment attempts, we decided to expand our mission.
Our mission is to provide support to individuals in their journey to recovery. Providing services in a nontraditional way, in the community and one-on-one, to help individuals find the path to recovery in mental and chemical dependency.
Our aim is to help our clients regain what they have lost, including familial and social relationships, employment opportunities, and personal dignity.
A Fresh Approach to Care
Having worked as a community provider for several years, we realized the need for an alternative approach to addressing substance use disorders. Drawing on successful models from the fields of home care and mental health, we identified gaps in the system, particularly in the transition from treatment to post-treatment support, which often resulted in relapse. To address this, we developed a person-centered care model that assigns individuals a dedicated support person to guide them through their recovery journey.
Building on Our Experience
Since we were already providing mental health services within the community, we saw the opportunity to enhance our support for individuals struggling with substance use disorders as well. We firmly believed that we could improve upon traditional treatment methods by leveraging our existing community-based approach. Why not offer individuals support from someone who has experienced a similar journey? Our aim was to create a truly person-centered experience that accommodates different recovery paths, recognizing that not everyone benefits from the standard 12-step programs. We also explore harm reduction models as a means for individuals to progress towards recovery at their own pace.
Additionally, we recognized the significance of providing an alternative option for individuals who had undergone multiple unsuccessful treatment programs. And recognizing the importance of support after a formal treatment program. By offering the support of a recovery coach in a one-on-one setting within the community, we hoped to provide a new opportunity for these individuals to find their way to recovery.
Motivation for Change
One of the driving forces behind our decision to expand our services was our own personal journey. After our own son left our home his senior year in high school, struggling with addition, we felt alone and frustrated in finding him the help he needed. With all our resources and attempts, we found ourselves struggling. We knew we could be that resource for others one day.
After four years of investigation and learning that to provide support to individuals with substance use, we would need to become 245G licensed, we took on the challenge. It took over two and a half years to get licensed and in September 2023, Hennepin Home Health Care was granted the 245G licensure.
By combining our extensive experience in home health care and mental health services with a fresh and innovative approach to substance use disorder recovery, we envision making a positive impact on the lives of our clients. Our goal is to empower individuals, meet them where they are in their recovery journey, and support them in achieving lasting wellness.
